BACKGROUND: Although this Mercury Capri Cup & Coin Holder / Capri Coin & Cup Holder was not offered as a standard accessory, but instead was used in other select period Ford / Mercury vehicles. We have found that this Mercury Capri Cup & Coin Holder / Capri Coin & Cup Holder can be used to replace the small plastic, in-center-dash, pocket (located under the radio) in all Mercury Capri models without the optional "Premium Sound System". Simply pop out the plastic pocket under the radio, slide in this Mercury Capri Cup & Coin Holder / Capri Coin & Cup Holder, and presto you've just given your Capri a really convenient and useful upgrade!

For those Mercury Capri owners who have a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission (A/T), this Mercury Capri Cup & Coin Holder / Capri Coin & Cup Holder mounts relatively easily in place of the small plastic, in-center-dash, pocket (located under the radio in all Mercury Capri's without the optional "Premium Sound System". However, those who own a Mercury Capri with a manual transmission, without factory Premium Sound System, they will have to do some minor" adjustments" to ensure a proper clearance of the shifter lever; the installer will have to relocate the radio to the bottom space where the plastic pocket was formally located, and mount the Mercury Capri coin / Mercury Capri cup holder where the radio was located so that gear shifter lever will have adequate clearance when in use. This Mercury Capri Cup & Coin Holder / Capri Coin & Cup Holder fits perfectly in its place and is held in place by standard Ford Radio "DIN" clips.
