This Mercury Capri Vapor Rollover Valve / Capri Vapor Valve / Mercury Vapor Check Valve / ROVV has both an inlet and outlet fuel hose. The original Mercury Capri Rollover Vapor Valve ( ROVV ) / Capri Vapor Valve / Mercury Capri Fuel Vapor Check Valve is held in place with one 10mm retaining bolt which passes through a built-in metal bracket and into frame. This Mercury Capri Rollover Vent Valve (ROVV) / Capri Vapor Rollover Valve / Mercury Vapor Valve / Capri Check Valve / Mercury Capri ROVV functions by releasing extra pressure from the fuel tank into the atmosphere. Conversely, if a there is too little pressure from the fuel tank (i.e.: too little fuel in the tank), a "rollover" situation occurs whereby the Vapor Rollover Valve / Vapor Valve / Check Valve / ROVV closes thereby not allowing fuel or vapors to escape the fuel tank. If your car is hesitating at speed, this may be one of the symptoms of a broken/bad ROVV. **NOTE:
Upon receiving this replacement ROVV, you may decide to RE-USE THE METAL BRACKET from
your old unit; carefully remove the bracket screws from both the new and old
ROVV, making sure not to lose the interior spring, etc., and re-install the old
